What class level should I book?

If you're new to Pilates, we recommend starting with at least 3 - 5 beginner classes to assess your level and familiarize yourself with the movements and our equipment. We offer a great Foundation Package that includes a combination of both group and private sessions to provide additional support as you build your foundation.

Once you've completed a couple of beginner classes at our studio, you’re welcome to explore our other classes as you continue to deepen your practice. We always recommend doing a number of beginner classes first as you learn the exercises and familiarize yourself with the equipment. If you have any questions, our teachers will always be happy to provide guidance.

If you are a seasoned pro but are new to our Studio, we ask you to message us directly so we can assess what class may be best suited for you.

Why can’t I buy a single visit for an intermediate class?

For those new to our studio, we require you to start with a Foundation class, regardless of your previous Pilates experience. This allows our instructors to assess your understanding of the Pilates system we teach and determine when you're ready for Intermediate classes. Please know that our criteria for advancement may differ from other studios, Pilates is a system that must be learned properly from the beginning. However, if you are a current member and would like to purchase a single Intermediate class, please email us.

How do I book a class?

You can easily book your class via the MindBody App or our website. Just select the class you want, and you're all set! You can also use our MindBody website to reserve your spot.

Common Questions that may pop up while booking.

I recently purchased a new pass and have only booked one or two classes but now when I go online to book another class it is asking me to pay or buy another new pass.

MindBody automatically activates your new pass on the date of your first reserved class.

For example, if you buy a pass today but book your first class for next week, MindBody will not let you use the pass to book a class for tomorrow—it will ask you to pay again. This is because your pass is set to activate on your first scheduled date.

To use the pass for a sooner class, you can temporarily cancel your future reservations, book the earlier class, and then re-book your other classes. Once you've attended your first class, your pass is active, and you can book in any order you like

I put myself on the waitlist for a class this week, but when a spot became available I wasn’t automatically moved up into the class, how come?

To be automatically promoted from the waitlist, you must have an active pass with available visits.

If your pass is full or recently expired, you will need to purchase a new pass to guarantee an automatic spot. While we will do our best to contact you if a spot opens up, the only way to ensure automatic promotion is to have a valid pass with an available class credit on your account.

I am not a current passholder or member, so I just purchased a single visit to book a class but then something came up, and I had to cancel.  Why wasn’t I refunded if I canceled within the early cancellation window?

If you cancel within the early window there is no penalty for canceling your class and the class credit will remain on your account for future use.  *Please keep in mind that Single visit passes expire 10 days after the sale date.  If you cannot attend a class within those first 10 days, please contact us and we can arrange a refund of the pass value to your account that can be used toward an alternate pass purchase, or a full refund to the original form of payment if that is your preference.

What can I expect?

Pilates might look intense on social media, with acrobatic poses and challenging moves, but the truth is, it can start as simply as learning to breathe properly. Our classes are designed to meet you where you are and there’s a starting point for everyone. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, we are here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring you feel supported and encouraged.

If you have questions about the different classes we offer, you can read more about each one below.

What should I bring to class?

  • Sticky socks/grip socks (If you don’t have them, you can purchase them in the studio).

  • Comfortable clothing that allows for free movement.

  • Water to stay hydrated during your session.

What is Pilates and how is Seed Studio different from other studios?

At Seed Studio, Pilates is more than just a workout; it’s a holistic journey of self-awareness and mindful movement. We believe in meeting you where you are and value the process and growth.

While many studios only focus on following a set of exercises, we focus on both the movement, as well as the relationship between teacher and student. While we do focus on the Joseph Pilates Method, our classes go beyond performing a set of movements—it’s about an ongoing dialogue where you and your teacher work together to discover what your body needs.

At Seed, the true magic of Pilates happens when students and teachers collaborate to create an experience that is both challenging and nourishing. Our studio is also purposefully small, with only 5 reformers, ensuring students get personalized attention and can safely achieve meaningful results.

This unique, interactive approach fosters deeper understanding, gradual progress, and personalized attention in every class.

What is the difference between mat, tower, and reformer classes?

  • Mat Classes: Performed on a mat using your body weight and a combination of tools such as blocks, Pilates rings, etc. Mat classes help build a critical foundation to your Pilates journey and are often more difficult as your body has no aids. The class is also an excellent way to improve your strength, flexibility and coordination.

  • Tower Classes: Utilize a special vertical frame called the Tower, which adds resistance through springs to intensify movements. It’s a great option for targeting specific muscle groups working on strength and mobility. The Tower allows you to use resistance in the form of pressing AND pulling to increase alignment, supple joints and flexibility. We promise you will love it!

  • Reformer Classes: Performed using the Reformer machine, which has adjustable springs for resistance, allowing for a full-body workout that strengthens, stretches, and lengthens muscles. This is one of the most popular ways to experience Pilates.

  • Mixed apparatus: In this class, the instructor may use multiple pieces of equipment to help grow and deepen your Pilates practice.  Reformer, Tower, Pilates Arcs, Mat and/or even the jump board may be used in these classes to provide a fun, well-rounded experience.  This class is great for people who typically attend classes where the instructor uses the Reformer exclusively.  You will be able to take your Reformer knowledge and apply it to all the other apparatuses that Seed Studio offers.

  • Post Natal Rehab: This series is intended to help new mothers reconnect with their core and begin to move mindfully in a way that supports the changes their body has undergone during pregnancy and through recovery. No experience is necessary, and this class is open to all mothers.

*You are welcome to bring your baby to class and we will have an extra set of hands in the studio to help, hold or cuddle as needed.

Do you offer private sessions?

Yes we do! Whether you're just starting your Pilates journey or you've been practising for years, private Pilates classes can be a transformative addition to your practice.

Pricing:

  • 60-minute Private: $110

  • 60-minute Semi-Private (2 people): $70 per person.

Private sessions are perfect for those looking to work on specific goals or those who prefer one-on-one instruction.

Read more about the benefits of one-on-one sessions here.

Why is Pilates more expensive than other fitness options?

Pilates can be more expensive than other fitness options because it offers a more personalized and high-quality experience. At our small, women-owned studio, we prioritize quality over quantity, with only 5 reformers  in each class to ensure individualized attention.

We also invest in top-of-the-line equipment and our teachers continually undergo training to provide the highest quality experience to our students. While this does contribute to higher prices, we believe it's essential to deliver an exceptional Pilates experience that helps you achieve your goals.
